The Tripod Tracking Dolly by Hague Camera Supports is an award winning camera track system that allows you to use your own tripod to create camera tracking shots. Camera Sliders can be good for creating short slider shots but if you are looking for something that gives you extra movement the Tripod Tracking Dolly is a great solution. Supplied with a 6m run of track the dolly is quick and easy to set-up.

HAGUE CAMERA SUPPORTS PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Hague D5T Tripod Tracking Dolly Kit is a quick and easy to use system that has been designed to create super smooth tracking shots with your own tripod. The dolly has two sets of locating holes for the tripod legs which means the tripod can be used in both high and low positions.

It has eight radial ball bearing wheels which set the track width to the correct positions as the dolly moves down the track. As a result the track does not require additional supports going between the two sides of track which makes it quicker to set-up and also allows the dolly to pull the track into place which makes it run smoother.

The D5T Tripod Tracking Dolly is ideal for use on location or in the studio, all you need is a reasonably flat surface. The dollies width has been set to allow it to go through the majority of doorways and it has its own levelling system which prevents any rocking should the track be on slightly uneven ground.

It runs on 40mm diameter track and is supplied with eight 1.5m lengths which provides a 6m run. The dolly will accept all tripods that have feet smaller than 45mm in diameter or with a base spreader and 3 straps are supplied for securing your tripod to the dolly.

Size:- L770mm x W620mm x H70mm

    Very good, but pricey

Posted by chris elliott on 30th Jun 2016

I bought this with a further 12m of track and connectors. The track and connectors go together really quickly, and the end of the tubes precisely joinn together, so there is no jolting as you go from 1 piece of track to another. A dissapointment was that my Manfrotto tripod feet were too big to go into the holes supplied for that purpose (so, important check that your tripod feet will fit!!!!!!!!), so I ended up using a lesser tripod, which in turn meant that I had to add extra weight to keep everything feeling solid. The rollers are smooooooth, but you do need to keep them clean, along with the track to get the best experience(I use the track out of doors, and even a piece of grass has a small effect on the smoothness) I really, really don't get why it is so expensive. But as others have said, it's about the only system that will do the job. Cameragrip response: Thank you for your review Chris, we appreciate your honest feedback. You may be interested to know that we do supply the Hague 565C - Spiked Foot Shoes for this system as an optional extra. The 565C Shoes allow the use of most Manfrotto, Libec and Vinten Tripods with Twin Spiked Feet to lock into place on The Hague D5T System. You can find these in the related products section below. I hope this helps. Kind regards, The Cameragrip Team

    Good value for money

Posted by Steve on 18th Oct 2015

Compared to the price of the Wally Dolly and its imitators, this is good value for money, although you don't get certain things that are included on more pricey units. Not as lightweight or compact as the ones costing four times as much but the results are the same. Tip. The track provided is bog standard 40mm waste pipe which makes a creaking sound when the dolly is loaded up with a heavy tripod and camera. Wickes 40mm waste pipe is much better. quality. You'll still need to buy connectors and the way the package is priced you don't save money but it runs quieter. For a lightweight set up you'll probaly be ok with standard pipe. Either way pipe (track) comes in 1.5m lengths which makes a small saving on set up time, I think. Also get some thin laminate flooring underlay to protect track outdoors and on rough surfaces. Definitely buy the spiked feet adapters as a Vinten/Sachtler tripod doesn't fit securely in the holes in the dolly. I've added a hi-hat to the dolly by buying the Hague hi-hat table dolly and bolting it to the dolly. Soft carry bag seems expensive so I'm using a snowboard bag. I've ended up with a set up that is as good as anything else for a third of the price. Recommended.

Cheapest tracking system that actually works

Posted by Unknown on 23rd Dec 2014

A very simple but well engineered dolly. It consisted of three rectangular-section metal pieces which bolt together with thumbscrews. Holes to take your tripod feet and bunjee straps are included for extra security. Four pairs of angled wheels run smoothly on standard 40mm plastic pipe (eight 1.5m sections with connectors included in this kit). There is some play built into the construction that cleverly allows for the inherent flexibility of the track. Obviously you need a flat surface to lay the tracks - the pipe is far too lightweight to be wedged and levelled - and you can't stand on the dolly but, bearing that in mind, I don't know of a cheaper and more efficient tracking systems than this.

Works great but seems a bit pricey

Posted by Richard on 23rd Oct 2014

Product is well constructed, well finished and of good quality, and does what it is meant to extremely well. However as there is not much too it so £300 (inc VAT and delivery) seemed a lot of money for what you get. Having said that I could find anything else like that fit the bill.

    Simple but effective

Posted by Dave Fisher - Melton on 6th Oct 2014

I was looking for a low cost but easy to use system when I discovered the Hague dolly. Its quite simple in its design but it works extremely well and we are now using it on alot of shoots. For the price its a very affordable unit which I would recommend.
